RAFT Weeks

We want to make sure you get the most out of your Summer Bridge 2024 experience! You're invited to sign up for our pre-Summer Bridge RAFT Week (Readjust, Acclimate, Familiarize, Transform)! RAFT Week is designed to give you tools and insight to navigate this new experience during the summer and it will prepare you even further for Fall! These workshops are interactive and packed with great info. RAFT Weeks is completely REMOTE.

Time Management

Delving into effective strategies for prioritizing tasks, setting realistic goals, and maximizing productivity. Through sharing resources, practical tips, and sharing insights, we aim to help individuals master the art of managing their own time efficiently to achieve personal and professional success.

Advocacy

What does it mean to advocate yourself? What are some ways you can effectively use resources on UCSD's campus? Join us to hear about your resource coaches' tips and experiences with self-advocacy!

Participation 101

Discussing how participation is emphasized on inclusion in classrooms amongst many other aspects of college. Going over all the resources students will have access to in the need for any academic trouble in any aspect.

Study Skills

Join us to learn how to study! Resource coaches will discuss how other factors such as environment and health are just as important as actually learning tricks to study. Resource coaches will also talk about their own experiences, so swing by with questions!

Effective Communication

Communication. That word gets thrown around so often but what does it really mean to effectively communicate? What does effective communication mean in the lens of UC San Diego? Join us to learn skills on how to effectively communicate with others and what that looks like as a college student!

Are both RAFT Weeks required?

No, you are free to go to both weeks! Both weeks cover the same material. We encourage you to attend at least each topic once.

Will my Summer Bridge classes interfere with RAFT Weeks?

No, Summer Bridge courses start August 5th.

Are the sessions interactive?

YES! Our workshop leaders have tailored activities designed to create community within the space.

Is this a course and is it free?

RAFT Weeks is a free of cost opportunity that prepares students for summer via non-credit workshops.

What if I can't attend last minute?

We have 2 weeks of RAFT! If you can't make it to one, our second RAFT week will take place during July 29th August 2nd.
