Summer Bridge Overview

The Summer 2024 (5-weeks) component of the Summer Bridge Program will be offered via two different platforms:

  1. Virtual (participation in programming and courses is completely remote);
  2. In-person/residential (students that meet our housing criteria are invited to reside on campus and participate in select programming or courses in person and virtually).

Why spend 5 weeks participating with Summer Bridge?

In Summer Bridge you will make friends, meet instructors, participate in peer-group activities, and learn to navigate UC San Diego!

Students who participate in the program:

  • Enjoy small classes with highly engaging instructors and graduate students
  • Meet with Peer Mxntors who will share tips and strategies to help your transition to the university
  • Receive dedicated academic support that continues in the academic year
  • Participate in a variety of activities and events to get to know departments and resources

*Research suggests that participating in a high-quality, challenging summer transition program, like the Summer Bridge Program, followed by comprehensive support throughout the academic year, increases academic excellence, engagement within the university with peers, and a strong sense of belonging to the university.
